HEIF

HEIF is used for space-saving photos, including many iPhone images. Converting to JPG or PNG can make photos easier to open in other apps and upload to websites.

SVG

SVG is useful for logos, icons and illustrations that need to scale cleanly. Exporting to PNG or JPG gives you a fixed-size image for apps that cannot open SVG.

SVG embeds the image by default. Vector tracing creates editable paths but simplifies colours and shapes; it does not reproduce photos exactly.
