JPEG

JPEG is widely used for photos, email attachments and social media. Its adjustable compression helps reduce file size, but it does not support transparent backgrounds.

SVG

SVG is useful for logos, icons and illustrations that need to scale cleanly. Exporting to PNG or JPG gives you a fixed-size image for apps that cannot open SVG.

SVG embeds the image by default. Vector tracing creates editable paths but simplifies colours and shapes; it does not reproduce photos exactly.
