GS1 DataBar Omnidirectional barcode generator (RSS-14)

Create a GS1 DataBar Omnidirectional barcode from your product’s GTIN and download PNG or SVG for a label.

Using GS1 DataBar Omnidirectional

GS1 DataBar Omnidirectional, formerly RSS-14, is a compact, single-row product barcode designed for retail checkout scanners. It stores a GTIN, not the price: the checkout system looks up the product. For batch numbers or expiry dates, choose GS1 DataBar Expanded instead.

Download PNG for documents or SVG for a sharp, resizable print layout. Generation takes place in your browser, without an account.

Questions about GS1 DataBar Omnidirectional

Can I use any 14-digit number on a retail label?
No. Use the GTIN assigned to your product, padded with leading zeroes to 14 digits where needed. This tool checks or calculates the final check digit; it does not assign a product number or confirm registration. Check that your retailer accepts this barcode and test a label at its final printed size.
How do I check the code before printing?
Leave the white margins intact, keep the image in proportion and scan a sample at its final printed size with the device you intend to use.
