What if my reference has an odd number of digits?

This generator does not add a zero or an X for you. Do not change an identifier just to make it fit: use the convention required by your receiving system, or choose Telepen Alpha if that system accepts it. X is a special part of Numeric encoding, not a letter you can place anywhere. The check character is added automatically.

How do I check the code before printing?

Leave the white margins intact, keep the image in proportion and scan a sample at its final printed size with the device you intend to use.

Telepen Numeric barcode generator

Create compact Telepen labels for numeric references; download PNG or SVG.

Using Telepen Numeric

Telepen Numeric encodes digits in pairs to make numeric labels more compact than Telepen Alpha. Use it for an existing system that expects Telepen Numeric, not as a substitute for a retail EAN or UPC barcode. For references containing ordinary letters or punctuation, choose Telepen Alpha.

Download PNG for documents or SVG for a sharp, resizable print layout. Generation takes place in your browser, without an account.
