USPS Intelligent Mail barcode generator (IMb / OneCode)
Create a USPS Intelligent Mail barcode (IMb), also called OneCode, from your mailing data. Download PNG or SVG for mail layouts and system tests.
Using USPS Intelligent Mail
IMb helps USPS sort and track letters, cards and flats. The first 20 digits contain a 2-digit barcode identifier, a 3-digit service type identifier, and 15 digits for the Mailer ID and serial number. Routing digits can follow. Unlike older POSTNET and PLANET codes, IMb combines these roles in one barcode. It is not the parcel format IMpb.
Download PNG for documents or SVG for a sharp, resizable print layout. Generation takes place in your browser, without an account.
Questions about USPS Intelligent Mail
- Can I create an IMb from just a ZIP code?
- No. You need the mailing identifiers as well as any destination digits required for your mailing. Use the correct USPS-issued Mailer ID and service type; the example is for testing only. This tool draws the barcode, but does not assign identifiers, validate an address, buy postage or activate tracking.
- How do I check the code before printing?
- Leave the white margins intact, keep the image in proportion and scan a sample at its final printed size with the device you intend to use.
