USPS FIM & test pattern generator
Generate a USPS FIM mark or a printing test pattern and download it as PNG or SVG. This tool selects a fixed pattern; it does not encode your message.
Using USPS FIM marks and test patterns
FIM marks help USPS equipment orient and sort mail. They are not addresses, tracking numbers or postage. For mailing, choose the required FIM type and follow USPS rules for its printed size and placement; resizing the preview is not a compliance check.
Download PNG for documents or SVG for a sharp, resizable print layout. Generation takes place in your browser, without an account.
USPS FIM and printing questions
- Can I put a name, address or link in this symbol?
- No. Only the listed pattern names are accepted. Use Code 128 for an identifier or a QR code for a link. The zebra and check options are printer test patterns, not mailing marks.
- What should I check before printing?
- For postal use, check the FIM type, printed dimensions and position against USPS requirements. zebra and check are only visual print tests; a phone camera cannot verify postal acceptance.
