Japan Post Customer Barcode generator

Create a Japan Post Customer Barcode for letter and postcard layouts. Enter prepared postal and address-number data, preview the result and download PNG or SVG.

Using Japan Post Customer Barcode

This postal barcode helps Japan Post sort mail by destination; it is not a parcel-tracking code. Prepare the address-number part using Japan Post’s extraction rules. The format has room for 20 encoded positions, with each letter using two, so the limit is not simply 20 typed characters.

Download PNG for documents or SVG for a sharp, resizable print layout. Generation takes place in your browser, without an account.

Questions about Japan Post Customer Barcode

Can I paste a full Japanese address to make the barcode?
No. This page encodes prepared data, not a written address. For example, postcode 100-0013 and extracted address number 1-3-2-503 become 10000131-3-2-503. The tool does not look up postcodes, verify delivery addresses or create a paid shipping label.
What should I check before mailing?
Check the prepared address data, bar dimensions, spacing and placement against Japan Post’s printing specifications. Print at the intended size without stretching. A PNG or SVG preview is not postal approval; have Japan Post check a sample when required.
