MaxiCode barcode generator

Generate a MaxiCode barcode from prepared shipping data and download PNG or SVG for a label layout.

Create the barcode, not a shipping label

MaxiCode is the hexagonal barcode with a circular target seen on UPS parcel labels. This tool uses mode 2: a numeric postal code, a three-digit country code, a three-digit service class, then your additional data. In the example, 15238 is the postal code, 840 is the US country code and 001 is the sample service class. The tool turns ^029 into the required field separator; typing an address alone will not create valid shipping data.

Download PNG for documents or SVG for a sharp, resizable print layout. Generation takes place in your browser, without an account.

MaxiCode input and scanning

Does this create a UPS shipping label or tracking number?
No. It creates only a MaxiCode symbol from the fields you enter, not a carrier-approved label, postage or tracking service. Obtain real shipment data from your carrier and test the printed code with a MaxiCode-compatible reader. For a link that people will scan with ordinary phone cameras, use a QR code.
How do I check the code before printing?
Leave the white margins intact, keep the image in proportion and scan a sample at its final printed size with the device you intend to use.
