DotCode barcode generator
Create DotCode labels from part numbers, batch references or text. Preview the dotted code and download PNG or SVG.
Using DotCode
DotCode uses dots rather than solid squares to carry data. It is suited to industrial marking, not a substitute for an everyday website QR code. This option encodes ordinary text; it does not interpret GS1 field numbers or add product information.
Download PNG for documents or SVG for a sharp, resizable print layout. Generation takes place in your browser, without an account.
Questions about DotCode
- Should I choose DotCode, GS1 DotCode or a QR code?
- Use DotCode when your marking system asks for it. Choose GS1 DotCode for structured product fields such as GTIN, expiry and batch. For a link people can open with a phone, choose a QR code. Test the final printed label with a DotCode-compatible reader.
- How do I check the code before printing?
- Leave the white margins intact, keep the image in proportion and scan a sample at its final printed size with the device you intend to use.
