Does this generator issue a PZN or look up a medicine?

No. It creates a barcode image from your number; it does not issue a PZN or search a medicine database. Missing check digits are calculated and supplied ones are verified. Keep leading zeroes and use the identifier assigned through IFA.

How do I check the code before printing?

Leave the white margins intact, keep the image in proportion and scan a sample at its final printed size with the device you intend to use.

PZN barcode generator (PZN-8 and PZN-7)

Create a PZN pharmaceutical barcode from an existing German product number and download PNG or SVG.

Using Pharmazentralnummer (PZN)

PZN stands for Pharmazentralnummer, the identifier used for pharmaceutical products in Germany. Choose the version that matches your assigned number. A seven-digit input can mean a complete PZN-7 or the first seven digits of a PZN-8, so this tool does not guess the version.

Download PNG for documents or SVG for a sharp, resizable print layout. Generation takes place in your browser, without an account.
