Marks & Spencer barcode generator (M&S)

Create a Marks & Spencer barcode from an existing number and download PNG or SVG for your label.

Using an M&S barcode on a label

The M&S barcode is an EAN-8-based format for Marks & Spencer internal labels, not a general retail barcode. Its centre bars differ from EAN-8, and the readable text has M and S at the sides. Use it only when your label specification requests this format.

Download PNG for documents or SVG for a sharp, resizable print layout. Generation takes place in your browser, without an account.

M&S barcode questions

Does this issue a Marks & Spencer product number?
No. It draws the barcode from your existing number, without registering a product or checking a retailer database. This encoder verifies the final check digit even for seven-digit inputs; it does not append a missing one. Confirm the required number and label layout with the receiving system, then scan a printed sample.
How do I check the code before printing?
Leave the white margins intact, keep the image in proportion and scan a sample at its final printed size with the device you intend to use.
